Behind the Scenes - Early Morning Rehearsing!
Thanks to our supporters we performed to another sold-out audience last Sunday at Watersmeet Theatre in Rickmansworth. It's a new venue to the Orchestra but I (Georgina) have organised a number of fundraising concerts there in the past for the local Cancer Centre, with the Ronnie Scott's Jazz Orchestra. It was thrilling to see 500 faces, old and new, all dancing to our finale! We are grateful to each of you for travelling from far and wide to watch us play, we really couldn't do it without your you! Your support means we are provisionally booked in for March 2027, I will confirm the date later in the year! Also a huge welcome to those people who signed up to the newsletter via our gigantic QR code banner (very modern!). This will now be following us everywhere, if we can fit it in the Kia!
With much activity at LP Headquarters we all felt it was time to get some new photographs of the Orchestra and singers. We haven't officially decided which photos to use yet but we thought you'd like to see some behind the scenes shots of what happens at our dress rehearsals a few hours before you all arrive for the concert! These were taken on the morning of the 8th March concert. As you can see there is a lot of concentration and hard work but also a great deal of fun that goes in to making every show the best it can be for you!
We are looking forward to returning to Dorking Halls on Sunday 15th March to perform our '100 Years of Big Bands' show. As I type, there are only seats left in the balcony, if you are coming do make sure to say 'Hi!' to us at the Merch Stand and take some photos of your experience at Dorking Halls; it would be great to see them on our Facebook page!
