Those in the vicinity of Milton Keynes will know what a gem of a venue you have at ‘The Stables’ Wavendon. Founded  by John Dankworth and Cleo Laine in 1970 in the former stables block in the grounds of their home. The venue was rebuilt in 2000 and still keeps its friendly atmosphere, great acoustics, Stables Kitchen restaurant and plentiful parking; all the essentials for any concert venue! In her 98th year Dame Cleo occasionally makes an appearance to watch a concert of the music she loves. Those of us who have been performing when she’s been there know her presence adds a real sense of occasion and a big extra dollop of nerves for the singers!
